For sony camera and camcorder user, there is a supplied software if you purchased an original and closed box Sony units. Most of the time we do have supplied software like Picture Motion Browser. Picture Motion Browser is editing software and can also be used in playing high definition videos because it has its own AVCHD player for high definition videos. It also has the capability to burn a dvd video. So for this concern about Picture Motion Browser (PMB) hangs in 50% percent while burning a dvd or cd’s, here are some troubleshooting that we need to check first.
1. Check System Requirements - OS version (Windows 2000, XP SP1 or SP2, VISTA Ultimate or Home, etc.)
2. Ask Available RAM (Memory) - Ideally customers should have a PC running with at least 256MB RAM.
3. There should not be any other Programs running in the Background - If there are other programs aside from the DVD authoring software running in the PC, this can cause sluggish PC performance and might cause PC to hang.
4. Ask if the Hard Disk is partitioned - When you copy a -RW (8 cm) disc to a -R (12 cm) disc, approximately 1.5 GB of free space is needed on your hard disk for temporary files. Depending on the capacity of the source disc, the free space required varies.
5. Try to change blank DVDs - The PC might have issues with blank DVDs that are not compatible with their DVD drive
